The website says
Quote: | A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants should have a broad liberal arts background that includes study in the social, behavioral, and biological sciences with a minimum of 60 liberal arts credits. Course work relating to diverse cultures, social conditions, and social problems is favorably considered. Academic credit is not given for life experience in lieu of field education or course requirements. The GRE is NOT required. |
I imagine that your degree would be fine.

With a BA you can certainly get in a MSW program.
It’s more of a question about NYU then sara Schneirer.
Was actually discussing with a friend who went to NYU for his MSW who has a BTL degree prior

Yes. People go to Columbia from there.

How competitive is it to get into the program at NYU?
Do that take anyone with a pulse or do thy have an 18% acceptance rate?
The question is who are you competing with and how highly will they think of your undergraduate degree.

I am only doing my research now.. Trying to see where I should do my degree, Touro vs. SS. They told me I would need a Bachelor in Professional Studies to get a masters in social work.

It should be fine. Do you specifically want NYU? Their tuition is quite high.

Who is they?
And what do you want to do with the MSW?
As someone in the field I would recommend deeply considering why the MSW

That's not what someone posted from their website.
Why don't you get a psychology BA? Sarah Schenirer has one, as does TTI which is probably easier to work with.

If you are looking for an easy program don’t go into social work

Imho dealing with a school admin is a sneak preview for dealing with alottttt of bureaucracy as a social worker.
The coursework comes out the same - but if you can’t navigate complex systems — that’s more important

If I was choosing a program, I wouldn’t choose the program that’s more difficult to navigate in order to strengthen my navigating difficult situations skills. There are plenty of unavoidable ways to work on that. If all other things are equal, please choose a program that won’t add more stress to your life.
Signed,
A mom watching her daughter navigate one of these programs
