Such a good thread idea! I’ve been thinking about starting one on this topic for a while (but wasn’t ever going to make it happen).

kids. The problem (happy prob) is that number 5 is on it's way bH. I don't think I'll change it though. I could do fab5 maybe! We'll see.

All the names I thought of were picked I did not want to have a # after my user name. I asked my DD to give me an idea she was packing her school supplies so she said scissors ,glue, loose leaf paper, white out, ect. Glue was not taken(1st name I tried).

Elfrida was the first woman to be crowned queen of England, in 973. She was renowned for her beauty and her piety. She was also questionably guilty of the murder of her husbands son by his first wife to ensure that her son would succeed to the throne. (The murder took place outside her house, but there were other people who also wanted to get rid of him, and it was never proved who was really responsible.) For many years while her son reigned, she remained the power behind the throne. Later she retired from court and brought up her grandchildren (thus maintaining her influence at court). In her final years she retired to a convent. A determined lady, who knew how to get what she wanted.

Not exactly a role model, but an interesting character who was very powerful at a time when women were generally much more limited. Worth remembering. (I take leave to question the piety of anyone who murdered their stepson, and I'm not planning on emulating that - even if I had a stepson.)
