Someone on this thread said her husband has an automatic watch and he likes it.

We very recently bought a Longines automatic watch that we see is 5 minutes fast every 24 hours. I emailed Customer Service.

Customer service answered like this:

There is a condition that affects automatic watches called magnetism. This is caused by magnetic fields that come into contact with the watch. Typically, if an automatic watch becomes magnetized, it begins to run faster than normal, just as you described.

Please avoid leaving your watch close to equipment that can produce strong magnetic fields such as mobile laptop or desktop computers, speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones, or magnets on bags, wallets, jewelry or boxes, etc as these may affect the performance of your watch. We also recommend that you remove your watch when you go through the body scanner at the airport.

With kind regard,

If you're not literally parking your watch directly on the part of the computer that contains the magnet, it shouldn't be an issue. Sounds like a defect in the watch IMHO.
