I was cutting up a salad for supper yesterday using my trusty knife and cutting board . the whole time I was thinking about how much my hand hurts and how I should take down my vegetable chopper but I was too lazy Smile! So I suffered all the way through rachmana litzlan. was wondering if I'm the only one?

Other - what's a vegetable chopper if not a knife and cutting board?

I only use a knife and cutting board. I hate having extra things to wash!

A good work space and a sharp knife make it go faster and easier.

Other—I never can seem to get a uniformly sized dice for chopped salads with a machine. If I’m slicing more than a couple things or grating, I absolutely use a machine.

Knife and plastic plate - don't want to wash cutting board.

There's a machine for salads?

My food processor chops too fine for that. Except for making cole slaw from cabbage.

If you mean the Cuisinart, it really doesn't "chop" things well for a lot of dishes. I will use it for some stuff where I am cutting in quantity and the quality of the dice doesn't matter because it is getting cooked or pureed eventually.

With a good knife and a cutting board, it is faster for me to prep most vegetables anyway.

I have a mini Cuisinart which I will use for certain things which are tedious like mincing garlic or garlic and parsley mixture.

My large Cuisinart is in a sort of appliance garage so I just have to slide it out to the counter instead of shlepping but I find that it's not that great for dicing.

If you use a good knife on a hard surface it will ruin the knife and just make it harder to chop and dice. I am not sure why it is hard to clean a cutting board - for veggies I just run it under the water with a sponge and a bit of dish soap.

I have a mini chopper slicer. I tried using it once to make potato kugel...suffice it to say 10 minutes later I was digging through my storage to find my Hamilton Beach food processor.

Unless I'm making several salads for a crowd, I use a knife and cutting board, because the tircha of cleaning an appliance is not worth it for a smaller volume. Besides, for most machines, you have to first cut the veggies into pieces small enough to fit into the feeding tube, which means you have to use a knife and cutting board anyway.

Always a knife and plate. You won’t find me making cakes or cookies in my Bosch either, I mix by hand or with a whisk. Must be dishwashingphobia.

I have one of those chopper machines, but I don’t have the strength to push it down
If DH or DD is around then I prep everything and they push it through
If not it’s a cutting board and knife for me
But when they do it it’s 1/3 of the time

Unless I’m making a cabbage salad, knife and board are all I need.

Depends on quantity. If it's a lot-- I'll take out the food processor (e.g. to shred a whole head of cabbage finely). Otherwise, knife & board

The only time I use a chopper is when I make corn salad. Otherwise it's a knife and cutting board (or a paper plate if I'm super lazy and want to not wash anything 🙈).

What's so hard about taking down a vegetable chopper?

I use mine for much more than salads....chop potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc....for a vegetable soup, or for roasted vegetables, etc...yum....

I just use a knife and cut into the salad bowl. Am I the only one? I hate extra dishes.
