If you Google it you can hear and see the Hungarian word for pacifier is tzumi.

If you Google the word, in hungarian it is cucli, aka tzutz-li.
That's why many say tzutzi.

And right under that it also says cumi

Are you from Hungary or something that you keep insisting on authentic people who I know that were born and raised there and who still live there don't know their own language?

He did not write the song. He bought if off a non jewish man who was singing it and he said it was one of the songs sung by the leviim in the beis hamikdash. as soon as he paid for it, the non jew forgot the song.

The story is on Jep volume 5, track "Sol A"

(I remember the interview on JM in the AM when this album came out)

Here are some other sites

https://en.bab.la/dictionary/e.....ifier

A cucli (tzutzli) is a pacifier like someone who is pacifying a situation.
A cumi (tzumi) is the type you put in a mouth.

I was born in Hungary. I love this thread. Cumi (tzumi) is Hungarian (not the formal word which is tzutli, but most people use cumi.

Does anybody know the song that starts Lanc Lanc Esther Lanc?

I'm reading this thread and drooling. My mother's parents were Hungarian but she never learned it, and I know even less. Oh well.
