My son is graduating eighth grade this year and we want to get him a gift for the occasion. What are appropriate gifts for this occasion? He is going to a yeshivish high school so I don’t think devices would be the right idea. And he just got a watch for his bar mitzvah from a relative. Not a particularly special one, but doubt he knows the difference.

Do boys use cameras? My friend told me the boys aren’t really into selfies or things like that.
And he got a pen as a bar mitzvah gift and never seemed to psyched about it...
I know cufflinks, but do boys even wear cufflink shirts now a days? I don’t think I see it so often...

I got my boys the hat boxes made for travel that are backpack type.
I guess it helped that they both became bar mitzvah either right before 8th or during 8th...

I did get him one of those travel hat boxes but the knock off one. I suppose I can get him one and monogram it...
It is so much easier with girls!

Could he use a bike? Other sports gear?
Helicopter ride.
What excites him?

Is he going out of town? What about a luggage set?

Wow you guys are super helpful!
That blanket is adorable! But not sure he’d go for it....
He’s currently not sure where he is on playing sports and Yeshiva so I’m staying clear of that.
Girls can easily get jewelry - doesn’t have to be expensive!
I’m looking for something meaningful as it’s coming from a parent. But maybe I’m overthinking it and just go with a more disposable type of item - meaning something that won’t be saved long term. Sigh...
