Just starting making the Ami whisk oversized pre cut cheesecake
I don't understand the cream cheese amount for cheesecake must be a typo it says 8 (8-ounce) j&j blocks cream cheese
Yikes ! What's it supposed to be really anyone know ?

Hm, I don't know the recipe you're referring to but if it has oversized in the title, perhaps it's correct. What are the rest of the ingredients? Do they seem in proportion to that amount of cream cheese?

2 cups sugar 2 cups sour cream and a few other small amounts. Not sure that's right for 64oz cream cheese?? !!!!

I don't know that recipe but 8 blocks of cream cheese is a ton! How many /what size cheese cakes is this recipe supposed to make?

I used 4 blocks (and no sour cream) and it made a very full 10 inch spring form.

The recipe I use is 3 blocks of cream cheese and 1 cup of sour cream, 1 cup sugar (plus some other ingredients), so the proportions do seem a bit off. That is a LOT of cream cheese, no denying that.

Don't have insta, recipe also didn't say what size pan to use etc so I'm making up a bunch of stuff here ! Based on my pan size I decided to make all the ingredients a half batch and the cream cheese a 1-8oz block. In the oven now let's see how this turns out Very Happy

What size pan? For a 9-10" springform I use 3 cream cheese. So if it's triple that size for a crowd, it can make sense.
