I believe it’s actually a nickname for Rivka, but may have transformed into its own name through the years.

I also thought that it originally came from Rivka. Nowadays some rabbis hold it's a separate name, while others think it's interchangeable with Rivka.

Great, if u agree on it- give the name Rivka which is nice because it’s one on the imahos so that’s always a classic and call her Riva

It's Aramaic for a girl. Not the same name as Rivka.
I can think of several families that have mothers/daughters or 2 sisters with both names.

It is a derivative of Rivka. It’s a name in my family and my parents researched it. It does not mean to fight. Rabbis who are experts in gittin are knowledgeable in the origins of names if you want to do your own research.

I actually do know a woman named Rivka who was widely called Riva as her nickname.

No it doesnt. That is what the word in tehillim means, which is a different word.
The name Reva is a derivative of Rivka, my husband looked into it extensively before we named our daughter Reva

Nope, that is not the origin of the name Reva. Different meaning
