We need to replace a gross carpet in our living/dining room but do not want to put down a wood floor right now. We'd love the wood look, though.

Anyone have experience with vinyl or laminate or another option that looks like wood? Would you recommend or not? How was/is it in terms of durability, functionality, ease of cleaning, wear, etc? And pricing?

TIA!

We just got luxury vinyl planks. Supposed to last at least 30 years.
Easy to clean, doesn't stain and shouldn't get scratched up like wood can.
We've had it for only a couple of weeks though...

We got luxury vinyl planks too. So far they've held up great. Here's the ones we got.

I find laminate very hard to upkeep,
doesn't clean well, and can tear if something heavy is dragged on it
I've only heard great things about the vinyl

We have vinyl for a few years now and love it. Laminate (im told) is not waterproof. The vinyl is.

Thank you!

To those who have vinyl, are there any drawbacks you can think of? Does it scratch from chairs dragged/toys rolled? Is it easy to clean?
