I place it in a pan with hot oil, and follow instructions on bag, and it's never crispy.
What's the trick to getting it to be crispy?

Make sure to preheat the oven before putting in the onion rings or cauliflower. Don't add oil! Use a non disposable baking sheet if you have one. If it's still soggy after the time it says on the package keep baking it til it's crispy!

If you have a Betty crocker warm it in that with some spray oil. Super crispy.

Preheat the oven to 450 (instead of what package says). Once the thermometer in the oven has really reached 450, lay out the *still frozen* breaded foods on a cookie sheet sized aluminum pan with low sides (not a pan with standard sides that come up higher).
Bake uncovered until crispy.
Generally the onion rings don't need to be checked on for the fist 20 minutes- it takes that long (and usually needs a little longer than that).
Breaded eggplant can be checked on earlier.

I bake onion rings 350 for 30 minutes and it’s crispy. Or you can do a higher temperature.

Preheat the oven.

Cook them on a rack so that the bottom doesn't get soggy and there is hot air circulating all around
