My dd is thinking of opening our farm for pay over the summer. (She's only vaaialbe for 2 weeks post 9 av. The rest of the summer she will be away).

She would take the kids and play with them with the animals. Bottle feed, milk, hold them, run around.

She's very gentle and amazing with kids and animals.

Would people pay for this? (She's still thinking of a price that would be worth it for her)

People come now and rave about her but were not sure if people would pay for this experience.

I think people would pay. They pay now to go for an hour or two on a Sunday.

I even pay to send my dd to camp at Dr Suss stables. People can't understand why I would pay to have my dd do farm chores, but she loves it!

If you offer some kind of service more than just viewing the animals, I believe people would pay.

It's very therapeutic.

The service is my dd being hands on there and helping the children play. It's a hands on experience.

People ask me all the time why I don't send there.

Do you think there's an interest for this?

Also how much would be fair to charge per person/per family?

I think there would be an interest. How old is she? If I remember correctly you have an 8th grader. (Not stalking you, I have one too and I was following the high school threads) Would you be around to supervise? I don't know if people would trust a 14 year old girl without an adult around.

I'm not sure about prices. $5 per kid? Less for a whole family?

I understand. I think you can totally charge.

I'm not sure how much, because I'm not good at this.

For some perspective: there is someone in Jackson who has a farm, he charges $35 for goat milk for health purposes. (Exp: squeezing out the milk on to hand that has rash, etc.)

Maybe you can charge $45 for an hour per family?

Idk, I'm so bad at this.

Good luck!

My kids are animal lovers and would absolutely love it. I actually think one of my children would benefit greatly from learning how to properly care for an animal. I would totally send to dr suss but we go away for the summer.

Yes people would pay. Post about it here if she does because depending on the price and hours I might be interested.

What would be a fair price in your mind?

My kids would love it. Does $7 a kid sound fair? I’m not particularly good at pricing, but I think that’s what the popcorn zoo charges?

Are you looking specifically for families or would you want small camp groups to come?
I would imagine that a primary age backyard camp might be interested, but then you'd be dealing with 10/15 kids at once.

45 a family sound like a lot of it’s not horseback riding or milking cows. I would pay $5 a kid and probably only my little kids would be interested
