Can anyone recommend a uniquely good PT (in Brooklyn) who helped tremendously with arthritic knee pain?
How do you get the right balance between pain not allowing you to exercise that youre becoming more sedentary than before, which causes weight gain, which is not good for arthritis, or overdoing activity and feeling more pain and needing pain killers?

Myofascial release PT, Trager, Feldenkrais PT, check out non mainstream therapies. That's how I learned to walk again without pain. And avoided knee surgery. The downside is the cost cuz these therapists usually don't accept insurance cuz they don't wanna allocate time for paperwork.

What did you find were the main differences in the approaches/treatment of mainstream PTs and non mainstream PTs?
I dont think Id go to a PT that doesnt take insurance unless I got rave reviews about them.
