Like to clean it for bugs??
I agitate for 30 seconds. I don't do a soak. Maybe look it up on star K (or whatever hechsher) if you want to make sure you are doing it exactly right.

From Star-K website: https://www.star-k.org/checking
THRIP CLOTH METHOD
Wash produce well
Prepare a basin with water and non-bleach and non-toxic dishwasher detergent solution. The water should feel slippery.
Agitate the produce in the solution for 15 seconds.
Remove the produce from the basin and shake off excess water over the basin.
Pour water through the thrip cloth.
Check the thrip cloth over a light box for any insects.
If insects are found, repeat steps 1-6. This can be done up to 3 times.
If insects are still found on the third try, the produce should not be used.
Note: If one does not have a thrip cloth, the water may be checked for infestation by placing a white basin over a light box
I don't think they can mean dishwasher detergent, which is usually fairly corrosive and toxic. I think they mean dishwashing liquid, which is what I've seen used in the various videos I've watched.

It's more about agitating and checking, then soaking.
1. Wash thoroughly under a strong stream of water.
2. Agitate lettuce in a white bowl filled with water and enough dish soap so that the water is slippery.
3. Examine the water to see that it is insect-free.**
4. If it is insect-free you may use the vegetable. Rinse off all soap.
5. If insects are found, you may re-do this procedure up to three times in total. **If there are still any insects, the whole batch of veggies must be discarded.
The last few years they've been recommending adding a thrip cloth and light box - pour the water through the cloth after agitating, then remove florets from the water. So if a thrip is left, it will be sitting right there on the cloth over the light. I still use a white bowl, good light and careful checking.

They actually do mean dishwasher soap. They suggest seventh generation which is more natural. The reasoning being that regular dish soap makes a lot of suds and it's hard to see clearly. Suds aren't added to dishwasher detergent.
