We just got it as a gift, when we cut - it scratches the board - is it supposed to work like that? or is there a certain knife we are supposed to use for it? also gives us the chills when the knife hits the board.
the one it comes with doesn't really cut challah..not sharp at all.
any ideas for me?

Give it away. Just because a so-called artist makes something doesn't mean it's practical. Stone is good for making candy and pastry dough that needs to stay cool. It's death to knives because it isn't resilient and it dulls them. So if you make candy like peanut brittle or pie crusts, repurpose the board for that. Do NOT use it to cut challah or anything else. If you love the look of the board and want to use it, tell your dh to hold the challah up off the board and cut it in the air.
If your dh can't or won't cut in the air, go buy yourself a nice sturdy wooden board and a good bread knife.

We use a good challah knife and the board has lots of scratches on it.
