It's in the upper west side though not midtown. But it is really yummy.
If you are okay with the uws you could also go to my most favorite which is also very good and popular for dates.

Mocha Burger in Noho/Greenwich area.
Bravo's Pizza downtown.
Midtown like 30s/40s has a few eateries but that's already a totally different area than downtown; where do they want to be?

Also downtown there is some cafe or restaurant in the Jewish museum, but I think it keeps museum hours, I.e. closed before most dates.
