I haven't bought a new sheitel in YEARS. For about 17 years (at least) I've been ordering synthetic wigs online. However, I need a change. The quality of that company is no longer what it used to be and after a few wearings the wigs feel gross (a wash doesn't help!)
I've been saving my money from a part time job, so I have about $1500-$2000 to spend. I'd love a weekday sheitel and also a nice one for simchas. If my budget can't cover both, then I just want to focus on the fancier one!
I live OOT, but I could get to Monsey or Lakewood
Where can I go that would fit my budget?
Also, what are latest styles (I'm looking for shoulder length or a bit longer)?
I hear a lot about lace wigs. Honestly, no clue what they are! But, seems they are controversial. Why is that? (Seriously, I'm so out of the sheitel-buying loop!)
Anything else I should know before I start looking around to buy?
Thank you!!

Most likely $1500-2000 will only cover one wig (depends on length).
A lace wig will lay flatter on the head but is usually more expensive and higher maintenance.

Elisheva's in lakewood is fantastic. She sells non-processed hair and she does all her own repairs that may be needed. My sister got a shoulder length one for 800 and I got below shoulder for 1000.

And Elisheva is extremely sweet and understanding, too. Only the best experiences there.

What is Elisheva's information? Like contact info? And spews she sell her own line? Or specific brands? Any idea if she does blondes well?

get one sheitel that could work for for both shabos and weekday. The style now now is no bangs and wavy or straight in whatever length you feel comfortable, very similar for both. you can style it fancier when you have a close simcha.
