DS is going on a two night overnight school trip and leaving soon - I just realized I have no clue how much money to send with him. Does anyone know?

If the school didnt give guidelines they may not be planning g on the notes having spending money. Call another mother in his class and ask her. These things are very variable in different communities.
For what its worth, my parents always said they paid for the trip, and I could take what I wanted of my own money to spend.

$15 sounds right to me - enough to buy something but not a lot

Nothing! These trips are a fortune! Kids bring along snacks and food.
He should not need any money.
(If you want to give him as a safety measure $10 should be enough!))
