I think you can wrap it in foil and bake it, then let it cool.
Sounds weird but I saw it in a magazine and once tried it!

Put it in the microwave for a minute or two.
The oven can work as well, just keep it in there a bit longer.

I just did it!
Left open in fridge and cut off the top and was yum!

Slice, season, and bake like potato wedges, or dip slices in tempura batter and deep fry.

I don't know what I did wrong, but it didn't taste like avocado after baking. How long do you bake and on what temperature? Are there any other ways to ripen a cut avocado?

How to Ripen an Avocado After It's Been Cut Open
Put the avocado back together, with the two halves fitting snugly around the pit.
Now, secure the halves so they can't come open. You can use plastic wrap, masking tape, rubber bands or a piece of twine. Whatever you have on hand will work.
The trick is to make sure the fruit is totally closed, so that no bugs, dust or moisture can enter.
Place the avocado back on the counter or in the fruit bowl (NOT the fridge). Check every 12 hours or so for ripeness by gently poking the fruit.

After sealing it shut, you can put it in a brown paper bag in a cool dark cabinet and it will be ready in 2 days.
