I’m going to ask his doctor for a referral but what can I do in the mean time. He crawls and has plenty of tummy time. He sits in the bumbo seat and I sit with him in the floor a few times a day but he can only sit unaided for about 30-45 sec.

I would keep putting him into a sitting position so that he can strengthen those muscles. But sounds like he needs pt. Also stop the bumbo it's a crutch and he's used to having something to lean on. Sit him up and hold him up and let go often to let him practice supporting himself.

I should edit... he’s doesn’t use the bumbo anymore. Was just saying that he’s able to do that...

That’s good because the other poster is right, sitting on a bumbo doesn’t teach sitting, because it places the pelvis in the wrong position and locks the baby in place.

I’m still trying to ge my son pt but in the mean time anyone have any recommendations how to help him sit. He’s pulling himself up against furniture in standing position and he climbs the stairs. Just trying to figure out which exercises can strengthen the core muscles to get him tos it.
