I heard that a straight cut with very slight layers is the new thing but I’m not sure. Good luck!

These days people are trying to buy wigs similar to their natural hair color,.
Also they cut it in a style that flatters their face.

Following your natural color is quite important. If you were blondish as a child and later on hair got darker blondish will still be a good choice. However from natural black color and wig is blond will be challenging. Your brows and lashes will clash with the wig as well as your skin color.

This!
There's nothing more pathetic seeing a lady wearing the latest fashion and style/color/length totally clash. The term Fashion victim comes to my mind

Then why am I literally the only one at weddings with bangs? Don't think most women follow this rule.

No. They dont.
And not all of them look good.

But I love bangs sweeping the face.

I think it makes any woman look so much prettier.
I have an old one with bangs and a newer one with a straight part and always second guessing myself to have it cut a bit.

I love the look of framing the face but then I like it all off my face too.

Can someone show pics
I’m so clueless

I want away from the face
Layers AFTER the shoulders
A TINY bit wavy, not stick straight but not too wavy either, it should have a little bit of movement
AND
I should be able to do a pony or an updo if I choose to

I don’t want to look like Morticea Addams (look it up)

I know what I want, but I don’t know how to explain it

I like the short wig style. It flatters my face shape. Not everyone wears it, but it is definitely considered in now. I have one wig that is 10” and is rooted and another that is shorter and is my natural golden brown color.

Take it to someone who cuts really well. I had a 5 year old wig that I thought I was going to have to donate totally revamped into a current style. Cost me $100 to have a new style cut in, instead of having to buy a whole new one.

Yes, I did that with an older layered one of mine as well. Took it to SM, cut it a bit more and it looks great.
