A yid never breaks Benny Friedman

Loafers is shortened from the original penny loafers. Those burgundy school shoes that had a slit in the band to insert a penny. Spring shoes I meant the school shoes that were stylish this Spring in luggage tan color.
There was even a thread if these are enough for summer daycamp or need to buy sneakers too? Everyone told OP that loafers are for school & sneakers for camp. Happens to be that I looked around & plenty girls are using their spring loafers this summer.

[quote="Tof Umachol"]"If it weren't for the rocks in its bed, the stream would have no song."

Do you know who's the author of this quote?
It has such poetic beauty and imagery.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for taking the time to explain and in such detail. Much appreciated.
Re Penny loafers: why did it have a slit to insert a penny? What was that penny for? I assume it's the British 1 pence/penny coin?
And BTW one of my most favorite songs is also - A Yid, sung by Benny Friedman.
I esp. thrive on the chorus - "A Yid never bends and A Yid never breaks and ......"
I wonder how it would sound if sung vocalized or a capella, so can be heard during the 3 wks?

Do you want to write an example question to cont. this game?

In the meantime, Gut Shabbos. Smile

I see we got stuck here.
I hope dankbar forgives me for supplying a category to keep things going.

(simcha4: I am sorry I don't know who that quote is from. I heard it many years ago - or maybe read it in a magazine - and have loved it ever since.)

Wheeee!!!!! I LOVED plaing Hopscotch. Thanxaload, "Sunny Days" for reminding me of yummy childhood memories. Smile
The children here do still play it, but not all the time. Games are like fashion - what's in, that's what's played. Until it changes ...

- count the raindrops on the window Smile (just joking)
Phone your elderly Aunt, neighbor, relative who lives alone and is yearning for a phone call, read, play board games with whoever else is at home, tackle that cupboard or something else that you've been meaning to sort through but didn't have the time, your favorite hobby, bulk baking and freeze,
sort out your handbag; throw out old receipts, papers etc, take a nice notebook or file and write down all the recipes your family enjoys that you've gathered from your Mother, Aunt, neighbor, co-worker... and are written on scraps of paper.
All I can think of for now.

Someting that you like about staying at your in-laws?
eg. at my m-i-l's home, it's always fun. Lots of laughter. Cozy feeling. B'H.
