My baby is 5.5 months kah!

She has good head control and I started to introduce solids to her. I dont nurse.

Over Shabbos I made her pea soup which she LOVED. She gobbled it up bh

Next day I gave her apple sauce.

Im making all her food.

My mother told me to give her something new every 3 days to see how she reacts to something (in terms of allergens). How do allergens work? Both dh and I arent allergic to anything. Were sefardi. Not sure if that plays a part in it.

My dh gave her bamba the other week and she liked it too.

Looking for other ideas to give her and please also tell me if im doing it wrong lol

Also, my baby takes a 2.5 hour nap until about 12:30 pm. Do I give her real food during that feed? Or right before bed? She goes down around 8

*I guess my q really is, how many meals a day am I giving her thats food?

Chicken soup with the veggies and chicken
Salmon rice avocado
Eggs (assuming no allergy running in families)

Texture and spices is good and makes for less picky toddlers and kids.

Start with only 1-2 solid meals a day for the first few months. Don't cut down any nursing sessions or bottles. Offer solids after milk so she doesn't replace her milk feeds with solids.

Can I give her ethic tasting food that we eat on Shabbat? Like cardamon and potatoes?

She didnt like chicken soup with veggies. I dont think shes so keen on carrots. I tried a few times

No allergies to eggs. I can give her now?

Yes, by age 1! Do not cut out milk feeds now.
Until 9ish months solids should be in addition to milk. Then you can start cutting out milk feeds and slowly switch to 3 solid meals plus a couple of snacks a day.

Yes you can give her everything that isn't a choking hazard, besides honey. Just do one allergen at a time.

Fava beans can be an allergen for Sephardim. Otherwise give her all the yummy food!

I really don't know so much about it. I think it's something we tested for? It's the only allergen I heard being possible for Sephardim. More common among boys. And generally something that runs in family.

It's called favism. It's like a weird anemic reaction.

It's the only food my mil would get nervous about me feeding the kids.

I never heard of this about spinach. Why would spinach be a problem?

Your mom is right, wait for 3 days and look out for rashes, pains, change of behavior, symptoms of sickness. You should be able to detect, what exactly causes it. You cannot do it if you introduce a new food every day.

Really watch out for that and tell dh not to give her random foods so it doesn't mess up your food introduction schedule. With eggs and honey I think you should wait till they are one.
