Can anyone recommend a good book or online resource for talking to young children about preventing s-xual abuse? My 3 year old is starting school soon and I want to talk to her about body safety, appropriate touch, etc. (Am I using the right terminology?) She's pretty sensitive so I want to be really careful about what I say. Thanks!

I thought it was written by Bracha Goetz? She's also done another but I can't remember the name. 'Let's stay safe' is the main one. But I don't know whether a 3 year old is really ready to understand it.

I use this book as a stepping stone for talking about safety in general as well as body safety. I've read it many times with my kids and we've had age appropriate discussions afterwards. As important as talking about it is repeating the discussion at different ages so they develop a better understanding.

I have both Let’s Stay Safe and Talking About Personal Privacy. Both are by Bracha Goetz. I actually prefer the second book as it’s very focused yet sensitively abs simply written so even very young children can understand the basic concepts.

We have "my body belongs to me from my head to my toes". It's a great read.

We play out scenarios "if someone tells you to keep a secret and don't tell abba/imma, what do we do right away?"

"If someone tries to touch you in a private place where they're not allowed, what do we do?"

And I also love the book Let's stay safe. It's a great stepping stone for this conversation
