There is an update coming from the govt of Israel in the next few days regarding the reopening to all tourists.
Mostly it will be, that if u are vaccinated, you'll be allowed into the country with no restrictions. This announcement will be made public within the next week or so.

In my local Misrad HaPnim, this particular service is granted to walk-ins only.

The application must be filed by a first degree relative: Parent, child, or sibling.

It's not "garbage." We don't want a surge in cases to compromise the health of our citizens.

We can't let in tons of people until we have adequate testing and enforcement infrastructure in place to handle it.

Unfortunately, that means some red tape.

If everyone is vaccinated why do we have to continue living life like this?
There wasnt any point getting it then if we're still living like before. At least where I live we are still urged to wear masks, SD, etc

My daughter just came back from Israel on a 10 day group tour. 70 American girls. They got tested for antibodies upon entering and supposedly needed to quarantine there

I'm pretty sure this is because there is no universal vaccine passport, and it's too easy to forge documentation. At some point, if a universal vaccine passport were created, each country could approve entries based on that info.

It's simpler to enforce quarantine rules with groups than with individual tourists.

What do you mean "at least"?
In Israel masks are required in all indoor spaces.
You don't think there was a point in getting vaccinated? Don't you not want to contract Covid?
