It can occur at any age. If you see someone turn into a psych case overnight no matter their age it’s probably pans/AE/bge whatever you want to call it.

Many pandas children will “outgrow” it around puberty but usually there will be residual damage.

Oh what I meant was- can this occur in a teen after puberty who never had this? An adult?

Yes absolutely. This is an excellent book that explored root causes for mental health issues in the teenage population https://www.amazon.com/Brain-I.....r=8-1

What kind of practitioner are you looking for? For what kinds of issues?

For myself - for medical and emotional issues - I’d love to try natural things before I turn to meds.

(No pandas here- I have ptsd from csa and other medical issues)

All this can be rooted in brain inflammation

I would look for a functional md https://www.ifm.org/find-a-practitioner/

Lol
😝
That’s all I can say...

Truth is that I feel like crying rather than laughing.
To tell you that I was sxually abused as a young child and be told that it’s brain inflammation?

No. Just no.

Thanks
I appreciate your practical advice!

Are they all trustworthy and good?
Would you just pick any and go from there?

No. Just no.

There are many many ways in which childhood abuse affects your body in a very physiological way

I usually try to find real life or trustworthy social network recommendations . If you share your location I can try to help.

No. Of course not. Firstly I’m sorry you went through that.
I meant the way your brain/body responds *can be* (I didn’t say it is) part of the complex thing that is brain inflammation. It’s like malfunction. Some people go through the same traumatic situations and come out ok, have you ever wondered why? And to be completely open I’ve been through some horrific **** myself. I still think a lot of my ptsd is because of brain inflammation, either past or present.

Whatever
This is not a conversation I wish to continue.

I’m bh in great therapy so I understand very well the mind body connection: of course these experiences live on your body as mental and physical illness!
I bh have people in my life who can understand it better than someone who’s never experienced the horror of this.

Right now all I asked for was for a recommendation for a doctor. My emotional experiences I’ll discuss in therapy.

I do believe in a combination of both.

Lol again

Show me a little girl who was brutally r”ped by her own dad and is ok and I’ll tell you a story of denial and dissociation.

Can we stop talking about this?
I want to enjoy this thread so I’d rather not need to leave

Is this book specifically for teens?
Anyone have a recommendation for a book about brain inflammation for kids of all ages?

If you’re just looking for alternatives to meds then functional medicine probably isn’t what you’re looking for.
