But they are too long to always say together, and they don't 100% flow when you say them?

Keep in mind you love both names! How would you pick which one to go by?? Also, not making after someone, so no need to take that into consideration.

Ex: adira yakira, Rena penina

Look at the baby after he/she is born and feel what's right.

Can you save the second name in case you have another of the same gender?

My son is named after my grandfather. I absolutely love both of his names but they don’t work to be used on one person. He’s not called by either of the names but a nickname related to one of the names, that I happen to love as well.
Things have their own way of working themselves out. I say don’t stress about it too much.

The reason we chose the names we did (not the ones I mentioned above) were because of the meaning of them together, and what they had to with how I became pregnant. So wouldn't want to save one for another baby.

Is one harder to pronounce? How do they roll of the tongue?

One either super common or a little too unique?

Do you have an older child or niece who will be perfect for the decision being you and DH actually picked the names?

Do you or DH actually love one name a little more?

See what the baby looks like.
Or use both and see what sticks.

Name contraction?
Sara + Aliza = Saraliza
Sara + Rena = Sarena
Sara + Rivka = Srivki

Obviously this doesn’t work with every name combo, but it worked for 2 of mine in a way that I’m thrilled with. For another one of my kids, I was stumped for the better part of a year, but the name came to us naturally when we weren’t thinking about it.

People get used to a name after hearing it for long enough. So even Adira yakira or Roizel Raizel or Elchonon Elimeilech will eventually work.

If not, your child will likely end up with some kind of a nickname.

I use it. People get used to it and it hasn’t been an issue for us.
