My dd had horrible rash on face as baby.
Took her to dr multiple times.
Neighbors drove me crazy about what it could be.
Dr kept telling me it wasn’t food or allergy. Not to cut out food groups.
Didn’t know who to listen to.
In the end dr was right and she grew out of it and it just went away.
Not saying you shouldn’t be proactive and follow up and question everything.
Just saying in my case dr was right and I’m happy I didn’t stop foods at that age ppl told me to stop when nutrition and trying new things is so important.
With my dd it started at 7 months exactly when I started food. Her face was always covered in thick layer of aquaphor. I hated it. It made everything greasy. Eventually it went away on its own. Maybe 6 months later.

Did it bother your baby? My baby is so itchy and scratches all day long. It’s so painful for him so it’s not something I can just ignore

Bacterial skin rashes can take a long time to heal. You need systemic AND topical antimicrobials plus a good probiotic.

That’s interesting. The doctor specifically said it’s not detergent because then would be everywhere. I will be taking him to pediatrician to discuss taking him off food and will mention perioral dermatitis to him, but I only did 1% hydrocortisone mixed with mupirocin for two weeks and then stopped. I then had a few week break before the derm prescribed the 2.5% for four nights a week for two weeks and then three nights a week for two weeks. I stopped after the second week since there was no improvement and he hasn’t been on hydrocortisone for a week now

I will be switching to a free and clear detergent anyway just in casfe

I found All free and clear detergent much better for my sensitive child then tide free and clear

It did.
That is why she was coated in thick layers of moisturizers that I hated all the time.

If there’s a microbial component the moisturizers may be hurting rather than helping
