My baby is 4 months old and will rarely play on his own for more than 10 minutes. I need to sit and play with him or he cries. What are your tips and tricks or am I too late? He’s starting by a babysitter soon and I don’t want her to get frustrated with him.

A 4 month old isn't supposed to play by themselves yet, and if they do, it usually doesn't last longer then 4-5 minutes. 10 minutes is nice for that age.

Babies that age want to be able to see your face (or someone else's face) a lot of the time that they're awake. It's a safety thing.

At a babysitter won’t he see and be playing alongside other babies?
This is not something you teach a. Infant. It’s something they grow into when they’re ready

They have a 10 minute attention span at that age. I just kept rotating toys and surfaces every 10-15 minutes. It gets better as they get older.

yeah, 4 months is too young. Work on this when they get older.
