You can look it up online. I assume if you ask here there will be a whole spectrum.

I gathered a few random statistics here. Note the difference between average and median. Usually median gives more of an accurate picture.

A person working in Manchester typically earns around 84,200 GBP per year. Salaries range from 21,300 GBP (lowest average) to 376,000 GBP (highest average, actual maximum salary is higher). This is the average yearly salary including housing, transport, and other benefits.

The average manchester salary in the United Kingdom is £35,000 per year or £17.95 per hour. Entry level positions start at £24,555 per year while most experienced workers make up to £55,000 per year.

The average salary is ranging between £31.2k in Bury and £40.7k in Salford. The UK average salary was £38.6k in 2020.

The median pre-tax salary for someone living in the area stood at £26,819 in April 2018, according to data released by the Office for National Statistics this week.

That is up from £26,270 in April 2017 - a rise of £549 in a year. It is an increase of 2.1 per cent at a time when inflation has been hovering between 2.4 per cent and 3.1 per cent.

In other words, the prices things cost is rising faster than the amount we are paid.

When those working part-time jobs are included, average annual earnings in Greater Manchester fall to £22,565.

And while the average man working a full-time job earns £28,894, for women that falls to £24,126.

It means Greater Manchester has a gender pay gap of £4,768 a year.

The data also reveals that the poorest 10 per cent of full-time workers earn less than £15,790 a year.
