Wondering what you do as ur kids start going to bed later?? I literally have to be in bed by like 930 LATEST! but DD (5) is starting to go to sleep closer to around 830... Which leaves not much time between then and when I go to bed! How do you have time for anything??

Why can't you go to bed an hour after your kid? I go to bed an hour after the kids, sometimes even right after them.

It all depends on your what works for your specific circumstance.
You might go to bed early shortly after your child and wake up early to accomplish.
It might make more sense for you to take care of housework, while your children are awake, and just occupy them with a fun toy, until you are finished.
Or maybe you can get a babysitter or mother's helper to watch your children for an hour or 2 a day, so that you can take of other things.
Good luck!

I usually get tired even before they're in bed, so when they're getting into pjs I do too! After they go to bed, I clean the kitchen, put the food away, and go to bed too. (Well I usually waste lots of time first, but that's the general idea.) Not much else gets done in my house - it's never really clean.

If it’s a 5 year old, the good news is it’s probably just a summer thing and once he’s back to school + the clock change he’ll revert back to around 7:30.
If it was an 8 year old or older, then yes those very early nights are over !

It's hard! Really hard. You just have to shut your bedroom door and get ready for bed. Very hard for an introvert who needs space. But it's a stage in life that we all go through.
Often you need to find different ways to make time for yourself that's not before bed. A brisk walk with ear phones and good music in the early AM before most are up. Utilizing lunch hour. Or since the kids are older, they can stay in charge for 30 minutes and you get to shower and unwind even before dinner.
Regarding clean up, it's a transition but best to do when the kids are around. Hard to change to, but good way to spend time together with the kids. You work and talk and they hang around to chat and sometimes help.

I go to bed when the younger kids get into bed and then I wake up around an hour to two hours before they wake up and tackle everything then.
