I used to sing this with the other Bais Yaakov girls from grades ten through thirteen (yes, I'm from Ontario).
Any idea from where the tune was taken? Sorry, I can't play an instrument (yet!) nor do I know how to download/upload a sound file, but it sounds Celtic.
I never found out who composed the words, let alone from where she took the melody.
EACH DAY
Each day we live we must rejoice.
Hashem has blessed us, made us His choice.
Ata v'chartanu mikol ha'amim.
We pledge our emunah l'chol hayamim.
B'nei Yisroel's hearts fill with pride.
Our faith shines forth from deep inside.
Ivdu-u e-ess Hashem b'simcha.
We serve Hashem and His Torah.
We look toward the future with hope.
Our sights are high; we nee-eed not grope.
Hashe-em I-is Tzur Olamim.
L'shana haba'ah biYerushalayim.
So: Any ideas?
