just graduated with special ed degree in early childhood. currently work with little kids and love it. Wanted to know if there's any reason to extend my certification. If I'm doing it the only time to do it is now because e/t I learned is still fresh... I believe that I can do p3 for older age students with an early childhood degree. did anyone have any problems with this?

Extend as in get certification for grades 7-12? I didn’t extend my certification past grade 6 yet I’ve been teaching special ed all ages up until age 15 in public school for many years

To extend from early childhood degree to childhood is super easy. Its just taking another one or two state tests.
If u want to do P3 for older than second grade, you dont hafta get it right away because they're not that strict about it, but it would pay to take when it fits into your schedule.
