I have a Proctor Silex since I got married 16 years ago. I use it every week for cholent and occasionally during the week.
Are you using an extension cord or possibly an outlet that's bad? Sounds odd for it to be breaking so quickly

Buy a Hamilton Beach oval manual model.
What size are you looking for?

Reg big size. 6 quart..
I like the Magic Mill/ Westbend rectangular ones where you can place something warm on top of lid.
It's not the outlet. An appliance repair guy told me they tend to break after 1-2 yrs by the amount of times we use it. I'm kinda fed up replacing it so many times..
Its the temperature. Starts over bubbling even at the lowest...

Those types don't cook evenly. I balance small wrapped things on top of a regular crockpot. Or you can buy a Babshi disposable pan that fits over a standard crockpot. It has space in the middle for the lids cover, and it's used for this purpose of placing sometimes to warm up on top of the lid.

Do you put it on a timer? That would reduce the hours of usage....
