My husband got a call today, asking for a chicken for a family that had 2 children die in a year. He ia buay with this now, so I can't ask questions. Anyone know what this about? The reasons for it? What they do with the chicken?

Is your husband a farmer or a shochet?

Both - but for this purpose he was just the farmer supplying a chicken. He was not the shochet although he was/is there while it's going on.

The person is not alive - the decree happened already.

The way they slaughter, I assume they mean is humane.
We eat chickens - according to the Torah, Karbanos are brought with animals. Killing animals was never considered inhumane until the last bunch of years.

Maybe it’s a sefardi minhag.

So sad for them. Lost 2 children. Young 40s. In one year. |
My husband told me it is a sefardi minhag. He's not sure the source.

Last I heard, animal sacrifices are not allowed until we get the Third Temple. Even then, we might not have them.

I don’t know if this is the family that asked. (You are correct I wrote it like that - but I don’t know)
I assumed it was public info that a family lost 2 children.
I never intended to hurt anyone.
I edited my post.
