Need to replace my winter coat this year. I’m trying to decide if I should get a short one again or go longer, 3/4 length. Reason being that I think my coat looked funny when I wore longer sweaters which stuck out.
But is a longer coat to cumbersome? I’m not outdoors much. Mostly from house to car etc

If I'm not standing outside for long periods of time, I prefer a short coat (I drive most places). I understand the feeling though about a long top underneath it.

I guess of you wear knee length skirts or dresses, you can get the same length coat.
If you tend to wear midis or maxis, I think wearing a knee length coat won't look right.

I thought knee length coats have been out for years.

I'm also wondering what the newest look is in Flatbush / BP for coats lengthwise.

I would go based on your needs. If you are waiting outside for a (school) bus or walking a distance. I would get longer and warmed. If you are driving, I would get something comfortable to sit in/which for me is waist length.
Figure out your functional needs and get what is most practical for your life.

I only wear short coats. I don't want to look like I'm 60.

Hip length and loving it. Looks shortish enough for style and covers longer sweaters.
