Every day this month I wake up and think.

Is today the day we cook the fish, eat the fish or throw out the leftover fish?

Hysterical, momsrus. Wink
I always have that with soup. I have to throw out the old soup so that I could use the pot to cook a new soup.

Ooh. That’s a hard one. It’s like one those questions- would you rather walk home in the pouring rain without an umbrella or walk home in 120 degree weather with the sun burning your back.
Now are ideal.

I say- I rather Shabbos fall out on YT! I’m so tired!!

Seeing as we don't work Fridays in Israel but I do work half day erev chag, I'm actually very content with this years schedule.

Also we don't have two days of sukkos either, just one.

We also get a three day Rosh HaShana once in a while.

This year we'll get a Shmini shel Pesach, and Shavuot is going to be a two day Yom Tov.

But I agree that our Tishrei schedule is much easier than chutz l'aretz.

Seriously
Remind me next time the calendar looks like this, I'm fleeing to Israel.

My coworker was trying to calm me down and was working hard for me to see the positivity amongst all this stress. She said , as a working mother this type of schedule should be helpful since we could at least have Shabbos to rest in between all the work and that we are off of work the Sundays before Yom Tov. (However I’m working on Sundays to make up for the some the work I’ll be missing).
Not sure I’m able to be as positive as my coworker.

Before I made Aliyah, I heard two schools of thought on this.

In Israel, there are fewer chagim, so less work! (Also, the mitzva and kedusha of being in the land.)

In chutz aretz, we get to celebrate more. Why would you want fewer holidays, family gatherings, and days off from work?

It was pretty evenly divided. The women wanted fewer holidays, and the men wanted more time to chill. That tells you something right there. The kids were either happy to stay in their room and read books, or were climbing the walls with boredom, making everyone crazy.

This is funny because I dont know any men in israel who want that extra day of chag. Smile
But I do know one woman who made aliyah eho said she misses the second seder because she was always more relaxed by the second one Smile

I love 3 day yom tovs! You are isolated from the outside world and just have fun with your family and friends for 3 days. This is hard because I am on and off from work and people cannot figure out when/where to contact me. My workload is always crazy around this time of year.

I have now used up all my vacation time. Like until pesach. I can’t even take off erev yom tov, because I took too much time off. Last year, I took a single vacation day.

Very true. I don't mind three day yontif at all, except that we lose a shabbos to Yom Kippur so the last day to rest before making succos was Rosh Hashana a week and a half before.

I find shabbos Sunday the hardest since I then have no Sundays to prepare for YT or get my house in order
