I don't know how to sort out my feelings. I'm on an eating plan for weight loss. (and improved health) that requires me to eat every few hours. If I stray and don't eat on schedule, the scale moves the wrong way. I am permitted to fast, so I did and now I resent what Yom Kippur did to me. How can I re-frame my thoughts on this?

Yom Kippur was very triggering for me too.
I'm trying my hardest to think of it as I'm starting fresh today and not think about previous scale numbers or anything else.
I know it's very hard.

How often are you weighing yourself?

What does your plan suggest with regard to frequency of weighing?

thanks for the bit of reality check, really only once a week, but I was worried and have been doing more often than normal. I probably do need to give it time to work itself out

Weighing more often than that will most likely backfire.

I feel the same way
Since everyone went back to school, I was all gung ho about eating healthy and exercise, and even stuck to it over RH. Since Yom kippur I feel horrible, dehydrated, nauseous and eating what I can handle at the moment, not necessarily the healthiest foods.
I'm sorry OP. It's really hard.
I keep reminding myself that just because I do not completely grasp the value of fasting on yom kippur, does not mean it isn't huge, amazing and extremely powerful. And if I would understand it, I would know that even though it derailed me, it was still worth it.

After a fast next few weeks I feel sick. I can also feel very depressed and irritable. I tell myself that it cleanses my soul. It's a very important thing. Like recovering from a baby. It's worth it
