How is it that today (Thursdays) theres no parking allowed on my side of the street in the heart of BP, and yet, theres cars parked on my side, where its not allowed today. No one moved their car.

Is it really Thursday today?

Dont these people get tickets?

I know on Yom Tov Alternate Side Parking rules are suspended, but NOT on Chol Hamoed. We called 311 to confirm.

Can someone finally explain this mystery.

Will they sleepily pay for their tickets, or do they have a solution to that problem?

People either hope they won’t get a ticket or if they do they pay the $65. It’s part of Brooklyn living and/or it’s worth it for them to not have to try find parking or move their cars.

People are confused as to what day of the week it is.

Honestly, this doesnt only happen on Yomtov. I see this regularly, throughout the year.

People really dont care about $65 tickets?

People count a certain amount of tickets into their monthly budget.

Different boro, but there were times when I made the decision that it was cheaper to get a ticket than have to interrupt what I was doing and load 2 kids and a double stroller into the car to move it.

Yes I’m from Brooklyn and count tickets into my annual budget.
There’s nowhere to park it’s not like we got many other choices...

I'm assuming to see if she had to move her car or maybe it's suspended for some reason.

Maybe they figure this is instead of paying for a parking lot.

Correct. Its not like there were one or 2 cars on my side. There were no spots empty.

I thought $65 is considered a decent amt of money. I guess not.

It’s part of the cost of living, along with the sky high real estate.

I guess those who live in the apartment buildings, barely eeking by every month, dont have cars to worry about. Otoh those who live in grand scale, have private driveways. So its the guys in the middle who are paying the $65 tickets. Or not paying?

Those in the apt buildings aren’t necessarily all eeking by every month. There is a large spectrum. Everyone makes their own cheshbon and plenty live beyond their means.

Op, why do I sense so much hostility in your post? Please MYOB.
I don’t question your $300 dress you bought when I don’t spend more than $70, you don’t question my budgeting decisions.
Seriously, why does this bother you? Are you jealous that people don’t cry about a $65 ticket?
