We had a nice dairy hot buffet, had a train ride for the kids, (you can also do a moon bounce), lots of small cocktail tables with tablecloths, balloons in primary colors, cookies and pekalach to match. Huge fancy colorful cake with primary colors and alef beis.

If you really want to go all out, book uncle moishy

Ha! Ha! There’s no such thing.
Even if you do it all yourself everything still costs money.
What’s your budget?

It’s easiest to come up with ideas once there is a budget in place.

I’ve seen the following on Instagram:

Themes:

Fire trucks
Curious George
Tractors and dump trucks
Race cars
Carnival

Or Pretty Sophisticated :
Florals
Balloon arches
Color schemes of black and white , beige and aqua , white and turquoise .

Iced Cookies matching the color scheme in the shapes of scissors, tzitzis and yarmulkas with your child’s name on it.

Large cake with child’s name and matches color scheme or theme

It’s a rental. I think it was in the $200-300 range. It’s a big train that all the kids can go on, and the rental company guy drives it around

My grandson had a fireman/fire truck themed Upsherin
In Brooklyn
The highlight was
A real fire truck came to the party
My daughter went with the boy the Friday before and asked if they can come

They gave all the kids a tour of the fire truck

It was 100% free

They were there about 30 minutes

I did a tools themed one for my son. I did an outdoor bbq and put up two cheap tents I bought on Amazon. I also had a huge waterslide since it was the summer. I made tools iced cookies. I used tool plates/napkins/cups.
The way to make it fancier is:
Use real tablecloths not plastic. I used round tables and chairs. Label the buffet table foods. Amazon has great cheap chalkboard labels that are adorable. Use props to set up. You can also do popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones.
