I was planning on asking for a raise this year at my end of year review. My boss from past 7 yrs who I know thinks highly of me is leaving in 2 weeks. There is currently no planned replacement.
I don’t think I can ask him now as he is outgoing but does that leave me in a lurch now for a while?
(He was pretty senior and person above him is VP who I wouldn’t discuss raises with and o don’t know)

I don't know if this is at all an option but can you approach the VP and apply for the position your boss currently holds?

Ask him to write a review before he leaves? I don’t think that’s unreasonable.

I don’t want the job.
Too much pressure. Stress. Can’t work from home.
Maybe in a diff lifetime.

Even if you don't want the full job if you're possibly taking on some of his responsibilities you should bring that up to the VP and discuss salary
