Names fascinate me but what’s wrong with naming your baby Rachel or whatever? Charlotte if you’re feeling fancy. People are so nuts. Why the need to make stuff up?? Have some rachmanus on your children!

Just clicked on this link…omg.

I think North & Chicago West take the cake.

גד was what I thought when I first heard about it. Then I learned it’s a hardcore Xtian family that spells it G-od (no dash). They named the kid’s sister Satan. Can't Believe It

Chicago West?? Omg.

I remember reading an article about a woman who didn’t think she could have more kids and then had a miracle baby after not knowing she was pregnant until she was in labor.

“We named him Hunter because he snuck up on us.”

Priceless!

A few years ago a couple in Israel named their child Like because they loved Facebook.

Also, I remember a couple in the US had their children Adolph and Hitler taken away from them.

Come to think of it....Brooklyn ain't so funny anymore..

Saw a little girl who's parents named her that. I think it's an extremely immature and controlling thing to do for a helpless baby.

Oh well, I guess they are not woke yet LOL

I was in a store and heard them saying on the speaker "Hashem, cleanup needed in aisle 4, Hashem-cleanup in aisle 4". My daughter and I just stared at each other haha.

I had a student whose name was Hashem. Exact spelling. Every time I had to call his name, well I just couldn't. I also had a female student named Nida.

When I was around 12, I heard parents calling their daughter’s name, “Keshet!”

And for probably a good couple years after that, I wanted to name my future daughter Keshet. I even looked up what her pasuk for shemoneh esrei would be and that convinced me even more!!!

I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone that before lol

(My actual daughter’s name is Basya)

Any one remember the story of the teenager who sued to change her name I think it was

Tehula does the hula in Hawaii

I was once stuck somewhere and the TV was talking to people asking what they were thinking when naming their kids.

One couple named their kid Honey they said they wanted Pot Roast, but the hospital had a fit and said they can't give their kid that name(I don't know if legally the hospital can do that)

There was a couple with triplet boys who named them Rop, Run, and Rumble

someone told me a few years ago that IMA is a name for black girls

Not quite recent, but recent enough that I still can't get over the weirdness of it

That's the one whose mother doesn't "identify with" the word "mother," right?

Trust me, by 3d grade, his nickname will be "Billy"
