That’s great, we are considering adding a floor but worried it will look strange from the outside like a big wide trilevel. I’m in the tristate area.

Agreed. I live in a beautiful high-ranch. We are planning on pushing out the front door thus making a large foyer and having the steps in not such a noticeable area.

Actually, it's your comment that's not in good taste.

It depends on the architect. I've seen some that look beautiful inside and out.

It's not the outside it's the inside. You'll still have the interior layout, with the kitchen upstairs and bedrooms downstairs.

You definitely can play around. You can do all bedroom on one floor and kitchen, dining/ living, family room on another floor.
