Prepare conversation prices beforehand. A story, a news item, the latest crisis featured in Mishpacha etc.

Good idea, but that feels so artificial. Can a poor conversationalist learn how to be a good one?

I found it helpful to eavesdrop on good conversationalists conversations and pick up their methods (in the grocery, at other ppls homes parties etc.) it can be learned.
I’m sure there are books that can help too
