I have bought my 8 yr old son undershirts from target, Walmart brand, and hanes. They all ended up really thin (almost see though) and rough material. Not quality.
Which undershirts do you buy your son? And how many sizes up do you have to buy bec of shrinkage? (Latest ones he has is Hanes size large. They are getting too short.)

I bought the ones from the Jewish store for my oldest boy. I know they’re expensive. (About $3 each) but I used them for all of my kids after him (5 altogether). Over the years I did throw out a couple. But I’m general
They lasted amazingly.

After trying many, I went back to hanes. Just size up to extra large. Order amazon

The Hanes with short sleeves are better quality, but they don't have v neck.
If you want sleeveless, try Jack and Jill. I have their undershirts with short sleeves for my boys but the quality is fine so I imagine the sleeveless are ok too.
I can pass the Jack and Jill from child to child and they have a better feel than the Hanes ones so I buy that.

Looks like the highest size in h&m is 8-10 Sad

Jack n Jill

Found in heimish stores.

Soft, wears well, lasts. Nice wide pshoulder strap-not those very thin type. (I buy sleeveless).

Worth it.
