Bat-tzion is a beautiful name, just uncommon. I don't think you could separate someone with such a name from Yerushalayim
Rav Ben-tzion Abba Shaul was a great talmid chocham of the previous generation.

I have a Bat-Tzion.

(It was actually suggested here on imamother when I was looking for a name connected to Yerushalayim that wasn't Tziona!)

And OMG ! I did not know that about Shlomit ! I take it back !

There is also a Shlomit who was a descendant of David Hamelech through Zerubavel.

Thinking along a different trajectory:

Shirel is an anagram for Israel (in Hebrew).

Isn't ahaliva an alternate name for moshiach?

Does the kinneret have any special hashkafic, halachik, or historic significance? Just curious...wouldn't name, as I have an aunt with this name, but I've always wondered....

Shivat-Tzion or just Shivat

I have heard of Yerushalayim as a name of a religious Ethiopian girl.

Shalvah

My niece is Shalvah, and her parents had in mind “Yehi Shalom b’cheileich, SHALVAH b’armenosayich” from Perek 122 of Tehillim that talks about Yerushalayim

Thought I was having a Bentzion, looks like it's actually a girl lol. I want a name that is connected to eretz yisrael or yerushalayim, and I can only think of two:
Zehava, which I love but can't use
And
Tziona which I don't like.

Any other suggestions?

Haven't read the thread yet but I know a Bastzion

If the idea is a connection to EY, you might want to also take into account how the names sound in modern Hebrew/ how common they are in this generation (in Israel).

For example Bat-tzion and Gefen would both be considered normal-but-not-overly-common girls' names for this generation. Tamar and Moriah are classics.

OTOH 'Aliza' sounds a little more like a name someone aged 50+ would have, ditto Chemda and Geula.

And Cheftzibah would be very uncommon/ old-fashioned.

Not that old fashioned is always the worst thing, just something to keep in mind. (And hey, you never know when a bunch of young dati leumi couples on a hilltop somewhere are going to bring a name back into style.)

Interesting point, but not one that I would take into account whatsoever. I couldn't care less how a name sounds or is thought of in the state of Israel. (One of my other kids happens to have a name that I know is looked down on there.)

I know many girls named Bat-zion.
As others have said, Aliza and Geula are old lady names in Israel.

Maybe rebbetzin carlebach or glustein? (Rav Nosson Tzvi's sisters in law)

Yes, Rebbetzin Carlebach

That being said I don't think it's a common chareidi girls name.
