I think my primary aged child needs OT. She is lacking a lot of skills that most 5 year olds have.
For example she can’t dress herself, or put on her own shoes. She can’t catch a ball, or ride a bike. She loves to draw her own pictures, but gets frustrated when trying to color in the lines or copy what her teacher says, and either gives up quickly or refuses to try.
However, she is intellectually and academically on par with her class.
How do I request an evaluation?
What’s the process?

You won't get one through the school. Try to find a private one yourself. Some take Jersey Care, some take out of network insurance.

I have pretty good insurance, and self employed so can change plans if necessary. Cash is also an option if it gets better therapy.

Rivky stienberg from pinpoint ot has good name too- think she started her own practice a yr or two ago but has tonz of experience working for someone else and she's super sweet

It also depends where you would like to receive OT services. If you want her to be seen in school, go to a agency that sends therapists into the schools.

Aviva Aberback is great but she only works in the Cheder now.
I’ve been using Bruchi Greenspan and have been extremely happy, my sons been making great progress. Her numbers 347 733 9176

Her school says they don’t accommodate OT in school.

At what age? Did they reccomend therapy? Were they able to provide the therapy either in school or in the service center? I know children who have therapy in their IEP but the boe wasn't able to provide

Sylvia has a private practice too. I know people who are currently going there.

It sounds like you need to really fight to get services and I haven't had that kind of energy. But the evaluation itself was helpful, and free.
They recommended therapy and put it in the IEP but since it's private school they aren't required to provide it.

Does anyone have contact info for Gitty Zelcer? A few people recommended her to me.
