I dont know. I do know that I pay close to two thousand with deductbiles for a family. Its really insane. Maybe you can get thru obama care or the market, not sure what its called. Unless you qualify for NJ Familycare

If you don’t qualify for government subsidies then this is typical.

I wish there was a way of making a normal group policy without being an employer.
Employer plans (can) have lower deductibles, better prices, and altogether better coverage.

They are pretty bad also
I get through my employer. Supposedly great plan. Pay over 1k per month and have crazy high deductible.
Only good part is I have hsa so some deductible is pre tax and not use or loose.

We pay $1300 a month for the family.
Individual deductible of $1500 ($3K for the family combined) and copays for most things even before you hit that deductible. I've had a pretty active medical year this year, and despite all that I still haven't hit my deductible. (iow, even though I've had a lot of medical drama, it hasn't cost us $1,500 yet.)
A plan for a comparable amount of money on the marketplace is a thousand times worse. I really don't think that's fair.

I wish more employers offered them! My dhs boss said no when dh asked if he’d make a group plan, but I so wonder what he does for his own insurance!! Why subject yourself to a bad plan if you better plans at your disposal?!
