How old is your mother? What’s her living situation? Is she employed or retired? Outgoing or a homebody? A makeup-and-manicure type or the opposite? Empty nester or has seven younger children still at home? It makes a difference you know.

In her 70s. On her own. Doesn't go to salons but enjoys nice items like leather gloves, fur scarves, good linen, magazine subscriptions (all things we've bought).
