Hi, so I'm on ozempic since last august on and off. I lost about 12 kg (24lbs). I lost nicely for a long time on 25. I stopped for 2 weeks while on vacation and I know now that its not a good idea. Whenever I stopped, I stayed the same for weeks until it finally starts to work again. I stopped one week on pesach and now taking 0.50 and I can suddenly eat so much more with no side effects whatsoever. going up to 1 mg next week.

Curious why you would stop for a week? Do you have bad side effects or just want to be able to endings more when on vaca?

I didn't want to but I forgot to buy a pen and on pesach I realized I didn't have anymore. Now I feel like its stopped working. Lets hope 1 mg will get me back on track.

I don't know the difference but maybe ask your dr to switch? Some ppl have more luck on Oz and some on saxenda.

Same thing. If one doesnt work they try the other. But on some people nothing works.

I was on Saxenda a few years ago (about a year before my son's bar mitzvah and then months afterward). Like others, as I went up in the dose, I would get nauseous the first day or 2 but then it would settle down. It's hard to say what worked and what didn't. I was probably more motivated around my son's BM so I was exercizing regularly in addition to following a very low calorie diet (done through the nutritionist at the doctor's office). After I lost motivation (and around the time my mother passed away a'h) I found it wasn't working as much. I had less of an appetite but I would still overeat.
As with anything, it's not a miracle drug - you still have to put the additional work in (eat well, exercise, etc.) but it's just to help you along.

My insurance covered it after my doctor submitted a prior authorization request to the insurance company.

So I’m having a very unpleasant side effect of ozempic. I burp a lot and the smell is awful. (Sorry tmi). Anybody else have this? Is there something I can do to stop this?

Yes. I’d eat smaller meals and lower fat. My doctor had me stop when that happened. But then my triglycerides went up and my liver function went down too.

Ozempic partially works by inducing gastroparesis ( ironically also a bad dude effect of diabetes) so fat, which takes longer to digest, can definitely give you the sulfur burps.

Usually I take Ozempic on Wednesday. Last week I didn't take it until Thursday. Do I go back to Wednesday this week, or is my new day Thursday?

Keep in mind that as soon as you stop you'll gain it all back. And then some.

Can my regular doctor prescribe it for overweight? Or do I need to see a specialist?
