Dc is running a fever of 102. Totally ok otherwise, but had mild Covid about a month ago.
Do we need to suspect this inflammatory disease??
(Waiting for pediatrician to get back to us)

I wouldn’t jump to that. Winter is beginning it could be anything under the sun. Just keep an eye out for other worrisome symptoms.

If the fever reaches 103, get to the nearest walk in clinic to be seen. 104 is an emergency, so don't let it get that high.
There are a lot of different things going around right now. Colds, strep, stomach flu, it could be anything really. Make sure you ask for a full panel of cultures to figure out what's going on. Don't let any doctors brush you off or tell you "You don't need to test for that."
If he had Covid a month ago, his immune system is still going to be very weak. I'm not surprised that he's caught something. After I recovered from my first bout with Covid, I got an infection in my jaw, and a sinus infection. After my second round of Covid, I got another sinus infection, and this time it's drug resistant. I see a specialist on Sunday.
So yeah, if he's had Covid his immune system could be weak enough that he could have picked up anything.

try reducing the fever by giving natural remedies, dress wet socks & apply wet cloth on forehead.
or if pain killers is fine with you, please do!

Since when is a fever of 104 an emergency? My kids spike high fevers all the time sometimes with a known cause and sometimes without. My doctor told me 107 is an emergency, not 104.

In march 2020 when my family had covid we were quarantined for months. About a month after my child had it he got a fever and felt sick. I knew he hadn’t been exposed to any germs because we literally didn’t leave the house. I was scared it was covid coming back worse.
At some point I remembered that right before he got covid he had had strep and I never got around to giving him abx for it and he fought it off successfully.
After discussing with my dr we decided that it was likely that the strep stayed dormant in his body and having covid weakened his immune system and it flared up again. He got abx and then it went away.
I had been worried about it being covid coming back stronger but it was just strep. His tonsils looked very infected too.

Pretend Covid doesn't exist for a second. What would you do for a child with a fever? Lukewarm baths, infant tylenol, and wait a few days. If the fever last for days, then call the doctor. Otherwise, it's just a virus.

104 is not an emergency in an otherwise healthy child. Just give alternating motrin and Tylenol. Look out for other symptoms and call the pediatrician with any concerns. Refuah shalaima.

I get why your mind is going there because my mind also likes to prepare me for the worst possible scenario, but really and truly a 102 fever is not a red flag. If no other symptoms and the fever comes down with meds, assume it's a random virus.
